About Cube Escape

Cube Escape is the one 3D game on the site. The board is a stack of candy-coloured blocks with an arrow on each, and you drag to turn the stack and tap a block to send it out the way its arrow points. Instead of hearts and a clock, each level gives you a move budget: its number of blocks plus three.

That budget is what sets it apart from the four grid games here, because a bump or a short slide costs a move rather than a heart, and you can see only some faces at once. There are 96 levels in six tiers, from a flat 3 × 3 slab of 9 blocks to 4 × 4 × 3 stacks of 48, ending with pyramids, crosses and steps. You can play it in your browser for free, with no install.

Level 1-1: a flat 3 × 3 slab, 9 blocks and 12 moves.
Cube Escape level 25: 3×3×3 stack of 27 blocks, 30 moves
Level 3-1 (25 overall): the first full 3 × 3 × 3 cube, 27 blocks and 30 moves; its centre block is hidden until the blocks around it go.
Cube Escape level 59: 4×4×2 stack of 32 blocks, 35 moves
Level 5-1 (59): tier 5 rotates through four shapes, starting with this 4 × 4 × 2 slab of 32 blocks and 35 moves.
Cube Escape level 75: pyramid stack of 14 blocks, 17 moves
Level 6-1 (75): the pyramid, 14 blocks and 17 moves, the first of the four sculpted shapes in the last tier.
Cube Escape level 96: plus stack of 20 blocks, 23 moves
Level 6-22 (96), the final level: a plus-shaped stack of 20 blocks and 23 moves.

How Cube Escape works

Every block points one of six ways: left, right, forward, back, up or down. Tap a block and it moves that way. With nothing in its path it leaves the stack. With a block right next to it in that direction, it bumps and stays where it is. With a gap and then a block, it slides into the gap and stops: a nudge, which can open a lane for something else.

Each of those three outcomes uses one move. Turning the stack is free: drag anywhere, including underneath, to find the blocks that can go. Because a level allows its block count plus three, you can afford three moves that do not remove a block.

Level 1. Block 1, the pink block at the front, points out of the slab with nothing ahead of it, so a tap removes it. Block 2, the purple block behind it, points the same way, and block 1 is in its path: tapping it now only spends a move.

  • Level 1: Tier 1: flat 3 × 3 slabs. Levels 1 to 5 never need a nudge.
  • Level 25: Tier 3: the first full cube, with a hidden centre block.
  • Level 39: The first level that cannot be cleared without a nudge (and level 40 after it).
  • Level 59: Tier 5: four shapes in rotation, up to 48 blocks.
  • Level 75: Tier 6: pyramid, plus, step and L shapes, 14 to 27 blocks.

Cube Escape strategy

  1. Turn before you tap. In level 1 only five of the nine blocks can leave at the start; each of the other four has a block right in front of it.
  2. Plan for the nudge on levels 39 and 40, the first two that cannot be cleared without one. A nudge is not a wasted move there: it is one of your three spares, spent on purpose.
  3. In tier 5, every 2 × 2 × 5 tower (levels 60, 64, 68 and 72) needs a nudge, while the 4 × 4 × 3 stacks between them hold the most blocks in the game, 48, against 51 moves.
  4. The last three levels, 94 to 96, all need a nudge as well, so count your spare moves before the first tap rather than after the third bump.

Cube Escape FAQ

Does turning the cube cost a move?
No. Dragging to turn or tilt the stack is free; only taps on blocks use moves.
What happens when the moves run out?
If blocks are left when the counter reaches zero, the level fails and you can retry it. Clearing the last block with your final move still counts as a win.
Can I pick a level?
Yes, from the level screen. Tiers 1 and 2 (levels 1 to 24) are open from the start; after that, each level opens when you clear the one before it, and any open level can be replayed.
